Back to School Night is tonight, September 2nd from 6:30 to 9:05 p.m.   Friday, September 3rd will be a minimum day – dismissal at 12:45.   Remind your parents to plan to attend.   (J. Shaw)

 

Attention SeniorsFriday, September 3rd is Senior Seminar.  Report to the main gym at 7:55 a.m.  Attendance will be taken.  Seniors will have a special day together to bond as a senior class.  Bring a snack.   (E. Saibel)

 

Attention JuniorsThere are limited parking permits to be award to juniors based on a lottery.  Forms are in Assistant Principals’ office.  Turn in to Tanya by Friday, September 3rd.  The permits cost $5.00 each and you will be notified on Tuesday, September 7th if you have been chosen.  (T. Club Day – Want a way to get involved and meet new people?  Come and sign up on Club Day, Wednesday, September 8th AND Friday the 10th and join your favorite clubs.  It will be in the Student Center so come see what cool clubs Drake has to offer.  If you want to start a club – get applications in the D-SHAC or from Counseling Office or Tanya in the A.P.’s office.  All clubs must have a faculty advisor.  Club Presidents and Advisors: Please note dates and confirm your attendance with Taylor Crouch at taylorcourch124@ymail.com or kgalli@tamdistrict.org.    (K. White Mountain Project Club MeetingDid you know that Drake High operates the highest altitude garden in America?  That we also study cyanobacteria and bristlecone pines in California’s White Mountains?  Get involved!  White Mountain Project Club meeting – Thursday, September 2nd at lunch in room 414.   (M. Partners At Lunch (PALS)Anyone interested in joining PAL’s should come to Room 303 on Wednesday, September 1st during lunch.  Bring your own lunch and come to learn about PAL’s.   (G.Francisco)

 

Canteen Welcome back to a new school year.  The Drake Canteen has some great new menu items this fall like chicken chipotle ranch wrap, an Italian style grilled chicken sandwich on a ciabatta roll, shanghai noodle salad and hummus served with veggies and pita bread.  We also serve breakfast before school or at break every day and we are serving fresh baked bagels from Redwood Bagel in Novato.  We are open for late break on Tuesday and Thursday.  (S. Fall Internship Applications are now available in the College and Career Center.  Opportunities include law, health care, business, non-profit, environment, veterinary medicine, auto, education and more.  See Roberta Dossick in the College and Career Center for more information.   (R. PARENTS:  Back to School Night – Thursday, September 2nd – if you have not purchased a Pirate Package for your student, bring your checkbook.  They will be on sale.  Pirate Package gets students free or reduced prices at sports events and dances and 30% discount on yearbook.  Part of proceeds from the sale of Pirate Package go to Drake ASB/Leadership and the funds go directly to students in the form of lunchtime activities, sports equipment, clubs, outreach to new students, staff appreciation, student recognition, student store and much more.  Cost of Pirate Package is $110.00.  This price is only good until Wednesday, October 6th.
